EMMANUELLE B.
In the Middle Ages artists painted
sometimes people with their feet in vases instead of shoes. It symbolizes
people that have done wrong in society. With the feet in vases a person
cannot run or walk normal any more, but must sneak like a thief.
Emmanuelle works in a prison to educate the prisoners. She helps their
minds to become cooperative. If a vase in normal position is a symbol for
doing wrong, then the upside position becomes a symbol for right doing, as
in this installation.

LIVING ART
Living art is just that, the medium
is living, growing, changing. because living art is not static, one
never knows how the sculpture will look with the passage of seasons,
years, or decades. Perhaps centuries. I try to picture what my works will
look like 20 years from now, several images appear, yet I really have no
idea. That's the beauty of the whole thing for me.

CELTIC BENCH
I tried to make this bench look like it had been there for centuries,
using the natural rock found in the area. The two trees woven together
will someday turn to one tree, grow upward and create a lovely shady place
to sit and contemplate the mysteries of our existence.

TURTLE TOWER
An old Greek tale: a student asks the
master, why the Earth does not fall into the empty universe. He answers:
"because the Earth rests on the back of a turtle". The student
thinks for a while, then asks: "and this turtle is standing o what?". The answer was, that it stands on another turtle, and again
on another and so on.....

FREIER RAUM
"ein dreidimensionaler Raum wurde freigesperrt - mit dreikantigen
Eichenleisten. Das Entstehungsdatum 20.04.2004 zeigt die Zeit in vierter
Dimension: der parallele Raum durch die 5. Dimension ist hier möglich, in
der Senke des Kunstraumes"
"a three-dimensional space has been
spread free - with three-edged oak sticks. The date of creation
(20.04.2004) shows the time in the fourth dimension: here the parallel
space through the fifth dimension becomes possible, inside the hollow of
art space.

BEAUTYNew iron is smooth and
shiny, with time it looses the shine and gets a rougher surface. In this
part it becomes much like the concept of beauty. In this installation
Venus is surrounded by rusty wires to indicate the time connectedness of
beauty.
